Director’s programme notes
If you are reading this, you are sitting in Harden Congregational Church waiting for the start of Treasure Island. Whilst watching, if you laugh half as much as we did rehearsing, then you’re in for a fun night.
The panto was written by members of the cast and adapted by them during rehearsals. You can imagine there are many “It’ll be alright on the night” moments and there’s always some bright spark who shouts “keep it in”. So we do.
Tonight, you will hear songs belted out to live music played by our own band formed for this production. Even if you can’t hold a tune in a bucket, if you want to sing along no one would take offence; you’d be in good company.
The scenery, sets, props and paraphernalia have been beautifully designed by and artistically painted and dressed by members of the society.
So, if you feel like joining in the fun: to act, sing or dance. To sew costumes, build sets or serve tea. To play an instrument or pen a panto. Contact us now! We can guarantee only one thing – you will enjoy yourself and have a laugh… even if it’s just at yourself.
